A Blind World Yields Chaos

If only they knew my Lord. If only the world would open her eyes to you. Most everyone has seen a blind person walk before. Imagine a blind person leading another blind person along. Wouldn’t it be chaos? Of course it would and that is the case for this world: people choose to live their lives blind to truth.

Isaiah 44:18 They know nothing, they understand nothing; their eyes are plastered over so they cannot see, and their minds closed so they cannot understand.

The blind leaders of the blind will tell you to live by the flesh. What has it yielded for so many: destruction. Millions of addicts have their lives consumed by the next chance they get to feel good requiring more and more of a substance to achieve it until their bodies are destroyed. Sexual immorality has led to 100 million Americans with STDs and a divorce rate of 45% in this country. Abortion has led to 60 million children being slaughtered and thrown in dumpsters. Gluttony has made America one of the leading countries of diet based diseases such as diabetes and heart attacks. Smoking has left cigarette companies massive fortunes while people shorten their lifespan by 7 minutes per smoke break.

Isaiah 9:16 Those who guide this people mislead them, and those who are guided are led astray.

They will tell you that there are many paths to divinity besides Jesus Christ. Going back in time to the first generations of rebellion against God, people forged blindfolds of false religions like Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc and distributed them to their descendants. Now there are billions of people walking around with zero inkling of truth in their minds or hearts. You see people that claim to kill in the Father’s name like terrorists: they never knew Him. You see people performing rituals that they believe are pleasing to the Father: they never knew Him.

I John 2:10 “But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.”

Oh how everyone has remembered that first death recorded in Genesis. What a tragic day in human history. From that moment forward, billions of people have been killed. A hatred fueled by man’s desire to separate himself from God and His people. You see the eternal hatred in the Middle East where nearly the entire Muslim world hates the Jewish people. It has, and only will, lead to their destruction. You see hatred between religions, mainly other religions hating Christians or atheists hating Christians. It’s not that all of them want us killed, but they surely want our spiritual lifestyle to never show in public or cease to exist. You see hatred between political forces! Somehow society has gotten to the point where if you disagree on something, you should be hostile to one another. Little do many of you know, but the Apostles had many arguments amongst themselves. They shared the same core values of course through their Teacher and Lord Jesus Christ, but they still disagreed on what to do at times. They worked through it though!

Are you blinded by the temporal? Do you have trouble focusing on or even believing in the eternal aspect of life? You must take the blindfold off that was forged by the demon and the world that follows him, and open your eyes to truth in the Word of God. Living by faith and not by the flesh will yield abundant life not destruction.

I read this post through very carefully. What you are saying is dead on. But I have a huge problem with your premise…The issue isn’t the fact that the blind are leading the blind here. The issue is that Christians are staring the problem you are presenting straight in the face. You never really answered the problem with an accurate solution. Which makes for a doom and gloom post. That sounds powerful, however I would argue that this post adds more to the problem than helps with anything. The problem isn’t the blind for being blind, how can you expect them to act any other way? If we have no blindfold and can see the way we should lead them. Rather than stand far off and point out that they are all blind. Really the problems is that Christians are not responding to Matthew 28:19-20 appropriately. The solution is simple. Since you can see…go start leading these blind people one at a time and try and get them to take off their blindfolds. Don’t write a giant post about how blind folks who don’t know any better are blind. Instead write a giant post instructing other Christians on how to lead the lost to Jesus!

Hmm. Very interesting valid point my friend. I can see how this would seem very gloomy by itself. This post is unique in that it does not offer a concrete solution for those who are blind. I try to write fairly positive with my theological posts and I also try to reach out to people who are blind in a loving way. This post is really for those that I can’t do anything for. There are some people in this world that are too far from God. Their hearts are hardened no matter how much we plead with them. It would take an act of God Himself to change people like this. They are like Paul before he was changed from Saul. I will write a post about how Christians should approach ministering to people though. Thank you for the feedback. It’s appreciated my friend. Blessings.
