Conforming To The World

Controversy follows my writing. I do not choose to write about the mundane routines of life. You may find this post among others to be very polarizing. It is intentional in that I do not want there to be any gray area between what I believe to be right and wrong. Some may deem it radical, I call it believing what you know wholeheartedly. Today’s post is about the Catholic Church. My indictment is strictly held to the leadership and the papacy, not the world wide members. The church has failed its people in many ways but I want to focus on how they have done the exact opposite of what Paul said in Romans 12:2: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Most importantly is Pope Francis’ support of the Big Bang theory. I find it shocking that he would favor a view held mainly by atheists. It’s clear in the Bible that anything the Lord did was by speaking. In Genesis it says God said let there be light, water, ground, creatures etc. Psalms 33:9 says:  For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. They are directly going against what the Bible teaches. You can also go back to the previous post “My Final Refutation” on more evidence for why macro-evolution is ridiculous.

Next is the fact that they support what the Lord vehemently regards as an abomination: homosexuality. I want to be clear, there is nothing wrong with allowing gay people to attend church or be friendly to them. We are to show the love of the Lord to all people. However, the fact that the papacy condones gay priests to be a part of the church is disgraceful. Their rationale is that so long as these priests remain celibate, they can be in the ranks of leadership. This allows a “foot in the door” opportunity for the moral deterioration of the church. You wonder why there are so many cases of priests committing sexual acts with young boys or men they keep secret. Allowing the sexual orientation to fester in the leadership leads to the actions. Lastly, I believe it won’t be long before they condone gay marriage entirely.

This may not seem like its conforming to the world, but anything unbiblical is. The way the Catholic Church approaches prayer is different. Nowhere in the Bible does it say we should pray to Mary, Jesus’ mother. The woman was a sinful imperfect human being just like the rest of us. Christians should only pray to the Trinity. Also, the fact that people are compelled to visit a priest for “confession” is ridiculous. It’s honestly almost as strange as the ancient indulgences that were sold. People go to these tiny rooms and confess their sins, then the priest prescribes some form of recitation. For example a priest might say, “Okay, say 10 hail Mary’s and one Our Father.” This is absolutely insane. First of all, you do not need to go to a priest to confess your sins. The veil was torn so that we could commune with God intimately when Jesus sacrificed himself. We can confess to someone if we choose but it’s not a requirement. Again, saying a Hail Mary does nothing for you. Quietly to the Lord Himself we are instructed in 1 John 1:9:  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I have wondered why there has been a shift away from the traditional and Biblical nature of the Catholic Church. Thankfully, it has not shifted entirely from the way things are supposed to be, but it seems they value their worldly reputation more than their spiritual one with the Father. It was very appalling to see the Pope involve himself with the US election in the manner he did as well. The man was pushing for wealth redistribution, climate change policy, and said building a border wall in the interest of national security was “not Christian.” Wonder how he would like it if cartels were running business in the middle of the Vatican. This “get with the times” movement is sad to see. We are to stand firm and draw the world away from its evil ways towards us. The exact opposite is happening today. This only touches the surface of the deterioration since I’m not trying to make a novel out of this. I’m merely highlighting what stands on the most to me. I’ll end with what Jesus said for how the world should view us:

If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember the words I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me. (John 15:18-21)

Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for that is how their fathers treated the false prophets.(Luke 6:26)

  1. I’ve known the Pope was not truly a Christian for a long time. And it shocked and saddened me. The more I found out about the Catholic church (as you say, leadership, and the papacy), the more unholy and ungodly it gets.
Follow Christ, and the Bible always!! If something doesn’t line up with the Word of God, it’s error, and from Satan.
Continue speaking the truth, and God will continue to bless you!!

  2. I agree with everything you said in these post but there is something that bugged me. What you said about Mary. Yes she was just like us. But from millions of women at that time she was chosen by the most High. One because she was a virgin and mainly because she was good at heart. Yes it is better to pray or ask for forgiveness from God directly. But can you just imagine how close she is to Him, she is His mother not to forget.. In that way when we pray to her asking her to pray for our sins we are luckier than we might think. Just speaking my mind.

Thank you for the comment sir. Don’t feel afraid to speak your mind! I welcome it. I’m glad you like the post. I guess I just don’t see it that way. I mean from that sort of logic in my opinion, we could pray to Kind David because he was a man after God’s own heart. That’s just my two cents. I feel it is clear in the Bible only to pray to the Trinity. Blessings.
