Some may find this insensitive. I call it being staunch in traditional values and holding onto the moral fiber we have as Americans and as Christians. The Left is always about forfeiting old traditional values for their experimental progressive ideas and agendas. These ideas sometimes result in the rotting of our moral fabric in this country. The Left’s coalition of small groups of supporters such as the LGBT community and other groups is built by producing political agendas that fulfill the desires of each of these groups to gain votes. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing until it negatively affects the majority. Moreover, when you criticize the Left’s agenda, they call you heartless bigots. It’s just the opposite actually. These politicians are focus on the desires of a very small portion of people and do not look at the effects it has on others. So here’s the subject matter at hand. This push for a diversification of labels to promote “gender inclusion” and transgender rights is wrong.
I’ll make some notes just to make the focus of this post clear. I don’t hold prejudice or hate against the LGBT community. I even have homosexual friends and I don’t mind them at all. Live your life how you see fit. Unfortunately, a lot of these people aren’t satisfied with general tolerance. I’m going to focus on Transgender people specifically. Recent policy changes made by the Left to cater to transgender people, a group that makes up less than .5% of the population, have begun to negatively impact the majority in several ways. The military recently approved of transgender people being allowed to serve the country. Doesn’t sound like too big of a deal, but think of how the military takes care of its personnel. They pay for pretty much everything you need. This has opened a loophole for people to enter into the military and then have their sexual reassignment surgery done for free. “We will take care of [transgender service members], and pay for necessary medical treatment,” said Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter. Guess who gets to pay for “necessary medical treatment?” Many of the hard working taxpayers of America will now be funding something that doesn’t line up with their moral values. Another terrible one would be the tax payer funding of abortion. Sexual reassignment is not necessary even on psychological terms and it is also expensive. The doctors will deem it necessary though because they don’t want to be labeled as bigots.
The next policy change has to do with bathrooms. Under Title IX, transgender people are now allowed to use the bathroom or locker room of their choice. Another case of a policy being created that negative impacts others directly. This produces an outlet for sexual predators to pose as transgender people and prey on innocent women and children! I can’t imagine voting for a policy that could result in my child or wife being scarred for life by looking at an abomination partially unclothed in a locker room. For children especially, these experiences can twist their perception of true gender: male and female. There have already been attempts made. A Toronto man claiming to be transgender was arrested and sentenced to jail for sexually assaulting several women in a women’s shelter after he gained access to the shelter and its shower facilitates as “Jessica.” A Virginia man was caught and arrested for peeping on and filming two women and a 5-year-old child in a women’s restroom after receiving entry by dressing in drag. A Los Angeles man dressed in drag, entered a Macy’s department store bathroom and videotaped women under bathroom stalls. Two male students were caught at the University of Toronto exploiting “gender-neutral” facilities to peep on women in the shower with their cellphone cameras. These are just a few examples of many and it will increase over time given the new policy change.
The next change is in classrooms promoting “gender inclusive language.” Some teachers and others are pushing for the elimination of the words and characterizations boy and girl. It’s almost as if these people want to produce transgender people. It’s something to tolerate not promote! In countless colleges today there are new guidelines for speaking and writing in classrooms now. Here’s an example from the University of Pittsburgh’s website:
To avoid unintentionally creating a sexist and homophobic classroom environment, during discussions do not limit yourself to male examples or heterosexual examples. Teachers can and should honor the breadth of experience and potential in students’ lives by discussing women, gender non-conforming, and LGBT-identified people. For example, avoid giving examples that assume that all doctors are men.
Now keeping in line with traditional gender, I understand you should use examples in class for he or she but not made up pronouns that only identify with the gender and sexual orientation of 4% of the entire US population. It’s insane. The longer these atmospheres exist, the more absurd things will become. We must openly hold onto the true genders of male and female before they potentially become extinct.
